Welcome to so gud™, a Texas-based sister company of maNASA Inc., proudly founded in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Together, we are marrying our shared passion for tea under one vision: to offer tea that nourishes your mind, body, soul—and the Earth.

 

Born from rich Sri Lankan (formerly known as Ceylon) heritage and a deep-rooted family tradition, so gud™ and maNASA™ Tea was created by Ashanti, alongside her husband Nishan, with loving support from their family.

 

What started as a tribute to Ashanti's father's unwavering love for high-quality Ceylon tea and his devotion to elephant conservation has now evolved into something even more powerful—a mindful, sustainable tea experience called so gud™.

Hey fellow tea lovers,

Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to share a little of our journey with you.

In our home, tea wasn't just a drink—it was a ritual, a connection to our roots. Growing up in Canada with parents who took pride in Sri Lanka's legendary Ceylon tea, I spent holidays visiting Sri Lanka's tea estates and hand-picking the finest Ceylon leaves to bring back home. My dad—never one to compromise on taste—would call the weak, bland tea from local stores "pol kola tea" (coconut-leaf tea) with a wink and a chuckle.

This passion is what inspired maNASA™ Tea, and now so gud™, our evolution into a new chapter of wellness-focused, planet-friendly, single-origin teas and beverages.

We teamed up with Luvinda Delwita, a master tea taster with 25+ years in the Ceylon tea industry, to craft our signature single-origin Ceylon tea collection—premium teas designed to delight your senses and elevate your daily rituals.

The Meaning Behind maNASA™

"Manasa" is the Sanskrit word for "Mind"—and that's where our focus begins. At maNASA™ and so gud™, we believe tea should be a mindful experience that nurtures your whole being while caring for the Earth. Whether you're sipping from a teacup or enjoying one of our ready-to-drink beverages on the go, our commitment remains the same: wellness for you and wellness for the planet.

Sustainability is Non-Negotiable 🌱

From the very beginning, we made a promise—no plastic, no shortcuts.

Instead, we chose:

• Compostable packaging made in Canada and the USA
• Ethically sourced teas supporting fair wages for farmers
• Plastic-free, recyclable, and plant-based bottles (like our PLA and paper bottles under so gud™)
• Carbon-neutral delivery through partnerships with Shopify Planet
• Plastic-removal efforts with Greenspark

 

We're not here to do things the easy way. We're here to do them the right way—even when it costs more, takes longer, or challenges the status quo.

Getting Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance Certified is an ongoing journey. We're doing the work, one leaf at a time, because we believe every farmer, every sip, and every action matters.

Even implementing QR-code traceability to show you exactly where your tea came from is part of our promise to be fully transparent and accountable. We're not perfect, but we're determined.
